Oilseeds
Nickerson has its own breeding programme for Winter Oilseed Rape, the UK's major oilseed crop and represents other breeder's varieties for Winter Oilseed Rape and some of the specialised oil crops such as Linseed and Linola.
Nickerson have a coordinated European Rape Seed breeding programme which targets three key markets: France, Germany and the United Kingdom. The UK arm of this programme is lead by Dr. Jo Bowman. Both hybrid and conventional material features in the Nickerson WOSR programme. The emphasis is on producing high yielding varieties with high oil content and sound agronomic characteristics.
